Summary
OneSpan Authentication Server (OAS) shows a bad performance when installed on Windows Server 2016.
Also after starting up the server, it takes a lot of time before the OAS service starts up.
Problem symptoms / Details
When checking the Task Manager the process "mysqld.exe" is consuming a lot of CPU resources.
This issue can appear in OAS version 3.15 and higher, when the embedded Database is used.
(In version 3.15, the embedded database has been changed from PostGreSQL to MariaDB)
Problem Solution.
This problem can be resolved by either turning off Windows Defender completely or by excluding the VASCO/OneSpan directories from the Windows Defender scan.
Depending on the version you only have to exclude "C:\Program Files\VASCO\" and possibly "C:\Program Files\OneSpan"
If this does not resolve the issue, please check also if your server meets at least the minimum requirements specified in the "IDENTIKEY Authentication Server Installation Guide" of your Authentication Server version.
Below the minimum requirements of OAS 3.22
